Join us for an afternoon with local journalist and activist Ron Chew to celebrate the audiobook launch of his memoir, My Unforgotten Seattle. Ron will share excerpts from his book while giving us a glimpse into the vibrant, living history of Seattle and its long-established Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.
In his book, Chew does more than provide an ancestral inventory of his family’s immigration to America. He takes us on a tour through the heart and soul of Seattle – from local landmarks like Shorey’s Bookstore to conversations with social justice leaders like Roberto Maestas.

During our time together, Chew will share clips from his audiobook along with cherished images of family members and key moments in his life and the history of Seattle.
Ron Chew is principal of Chew Communications, a Seattle-based consulting firm which documents community history and helps museums and emerging non-profits cope with organizational growth. He served as executive director of the International Community Health Services Foundation where he raised funds to build new health clinics and to support other services for underserved populations. Previously, he served as executive director of the Wing Luke Museum where he spearheaded a $23 million capital campaign to build the new museum. Chew also worked for over 13 years as editor of the International Examiner, a newspaper in Seattle’s Chinatown-International District. Chew is a lifelong Seattle resident.
