The Alliance Française de Seattle presents the 3rd Seattle edition of the Night of Ideas, part of a worldwide event launched by the French Embassy and Villa Albertine in 2005 and now taking place across major cities in the US. Hosted at the historic Town Hall Seattle—a cherished space for civic dialogue in the Pacific Northwest—this 4-hour interactive community gathering will bring together French, Francophone and American guest speakers and panelists to reimagine a future for our city in a rapidly changing global context.
Together, they will explore new forms of empowerment, creativity, and agency through the lenses of arts, education, philanthropy, cultural diplomacy, and more. Join thought leaders in exploring innovative approaches to international cooperation with an emphasis on our region’s unique perspective.
The program will include keynotes by Jason Chau (Gates Foundation) and Dr Anu Taranath (UW Global Studies), as well as a panel discussion, musical performance, and opportunities to directly contribute to the conversation. Guests include Beth Barrett (Seattle International Film Festival), Richard Watts (UW French and Italian Studies), Jean Chaumont (musician) and Xuman (musician).
This interactive evening will offer more than inspiration—it’s an invitation to join a global movement celebrating the power of cultural exchanges and arts diplomacy. Connect with fellow Seattleites and be part of a meaningful exchange on urgent matters that shape our global community!
