Money decisions get harder — not easier — as we age. How much should we spend when we’re healthy and active? How much should we save for the “what ifs” that come with aging and health changes? How should we think about leaving gifts for loved ones? Figuring out how to fund the last third of our lives can be stressful and even paralyzing. Especially if we’re not familiar with all of the financial options, terms, and questions we should be asking. Join Wendy Norman from Known Wishes and Financial Planner Kelly Larkin from Larkin Wealth Advisors for a candid, compassionate conversation about navigating the financial side of life’s later chapters and making your financial wishes known. Whether you’re planning for retirement, “rewirement”, or simply refining how you want to live, this session will help you understand how to prepare with confidence.

Kelly Larkin has been helping clients with their investment needs since 1997. Her goal is to develop long-term relationships with her clients by designing, implementing, and monitoring customized financial programs for them. By working closely with her clients, she is best able to design a plan that helps address their unique and individual needs.

With a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a teaching certificate from Western Washington University, and various career experiences, Kelly found the most rewarding career in helping others plan their financial future.

Kelly has had the opportunity to work with many clients over the years and has realized that each person’s financial needs and goals are unique. Sound financial planning is not just about addressing the future income needs of her clients, with consideration of their portfolio construction and tax management, but also addressing their emotional needs as they plan for retirement. Although today’s fast-paced world of technology gives greater access to information, Kelly has found that the inundation of information can be more confusing and emotionally trying for her clients. Therefore, she focuses on helping filter and explain how that information applies to each of her clients’ financial plans.

Kelly is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER Professional and LPL Investment Adviser Representative. She holds, through LPL the FINRA Series 7 and 65 registrations and holds her life, health, and disability licenses.

Wendy Norman has been researching and engaging with end-of-life issues for over 15 years. Wendy’s interest was sparked by her mother’s diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer’s in 2006. This is when she learned how important it is to have a plan before becoming ill, especially when cognitive decline is involved. Wanting to help others understand the value of pre-planning, Wendy became an end-of-life planning consultant in 2017. In 2019, she left a 25-year career in marketing and program management to invest her time and energy toward end-of-life planning, education and awareness. In 2020, she helped create and lead a team of volunteers to launch an education and awareness program called End of Life Ready hosted by End of Life Washington. Building on that experience, Known Wishes was created to broaden and deepen end-of-life education.
