Banner for "Glory Hole: ReBirthday," a drag/art show on July 26 at Town Hall Seattle with Stasia Coup, Miss Texas 1988, Angel Baby Kill Kill Kill, Soggy Clair, and Mr. E. The banner features a green snake wearing a party hat, eating itself by encircling a black hole on a pink background. Masking is required.
Arts & Culture

Seattle’s favorite experimental drag sandbox is back—from the dead! After a long hiatus (sabbatical?), the cast of Glory Hole has reunited to bring Seattle a performance series where drag, dance, and performance art collide. July happens to be the show’s birthday month (a Cancer/Leo cusp!), and they invite you to celebrate their sixth birthday and resurrection with the season-kickoff show, Glory Hole: ReBirthday. It will be a birthday party like no other!

About Glory Hole Drag Collective

Glory Hole is an experimental drag and performance art showcase that seeks to create unique, immersive drag experiences. Originating as a one-off basement show where five performers were invited to forgo the typical four-minute lip sync, Glory Hole grew into an award-winning show where audiences might see and interact with truly anything—from durational character work improvisations, to interactive visual art installations, and pop-up performances which spontaneously occur over the course of a night. The glory is in the unexpected. What’s inside the hole?

Masking Statement

The cast of Glory Hole wants to look out for the well-being of their friends, lovers, favorite artists, cool elders, and all beloved people. They ask that masks be worn by all attendees. Masks will be provided at the door. Thank you for your care!

About the Artists

Headshot of Stasia Coup

Stasia Coup loves turning expectations of drag on their head. She carries a torch for the sentimental and the absurd, often weaving together elements of performance art, postmodern dance, storytelling, and puppetry in her efforts to light up all the best parts of the human heart. She would like to warmly invite you into her world, where the leavening, magical power of play reigns supreme.

 Headshot of Miss Texas 1988

Miss Texas 1988 is a Seattle drag artist and winner of Camp Wannakiki Season 5. They dabble in everything from the silly to the sublime, with curiously crafted costumes and climactic characters. Catch her as a cast member of Tush, The Sunday Sip, Lashes, Glory Hole, and as their burlesque persona as Mx. Nuts in The Devil’s Advocates. They are also the host of High F@ggotry, and moonlight as the drag King JohnJacobJingleHeimerSHIT!

Headshot of Angel Baby Kill Kill Kill

Angel Baby Kill Kill Kill is Seattle’s premier drag goblin. A wily imp perched on reality’s edge, their work incorporates training in physical theatre, performance art, and clown to better blur the line between heart, horror, and the surreal. A mainstay for many years in Seattle’s experimental drag scene, Angel exists in an eternal state of regrowth and reclamation.

 Headshot of Soggy Clair

Soggy Clair is the newest iteration of Bitch Hazel, less in a Madonna refashioning between albums way and more in an Athena born of Zeus way but if Zeus was a bathroom sink and Soggy was a hair clog. And here you are, holding the toothed plastic drain snake. Thank you mama, thank you dada. Previously a resident artist at Arson Nicki’s FRESH, a member of Horse Club NW, and winner, later host of ArtHaus. Presently, Soggy Clair is new here, it’s their first day, and they are just a lil guy.

Headshot of Mr. E

Mr. E may or may not have hatched and formed from a carton of eggs; they are full of more questions than answers. They are just as much a balloon floating romantically above a carousel ride as they are a pair of googly eyes affixed to a basketball. With ambitious dreams of being shrouded in ambiguity and intrigue, Mr E is just an earnest guy that’s happy to be here.

Presented by Town Hall Seattle and Glory Hole Drag Collective. This project is funded in part by 4Culture.
