Violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan has been bringing his virtuosic expressions of Indian classical music to Town Hall for many years. We’re thrilled to welcome him back to the Great Hall to launch our 2026-2027 season of Global Rhythms!
In collaboration with Seattle-based pianist and composer Marina Albero, Rajagopalan and his band will perform songs from his new album, Maya – Seven Reflections of Life, exploring how we experience and interpret the world around us.
The concert will take a musical journey through seven expressions of existence — nature, perception, movement, love, breath, joy, and color. Each composition is a reflection of life’s infinite expressions: the nurturing rhythm of rain; the mysteries of perception; the movement of creation; the power of love; the sacred breath that sustains all beings; the joy of rhythm; and the colors that enrich the journey.
Through melodies rooted in Indian classical traditions and enriched by universal musical influences, the concert celebrates the invisible bridges that connect cultures, generations, and hearts. Maya invites audiences to discover the deeper unity that binds us all through the universal language of music.
