About SYAMFA

The Seattle Young Artists Music Festival Association (SYAMFA) is a non-profit arts organization with a non-competitive philosophy focused on musicianship and the development of performance artistry in young musicians. Founded in 1970 by five private music teachers, elite national adjudicators have been a hallmark from the outset. For over 50 years, with rigorous rules of entrance the SYAMFA Festival has played a critical role in music education annually for some 700 pre-college students of classical music.

From the only competitive area of the Festival, the Concerto Division, the Young Artists Concerto Concert presents the top six soloists from an original field of 150 entrants in concert with an orchestra. Concerto Division winners often go on to study at the Curtis Institute, The Juilliard School, Oberlin Conservatory, Eastman School of Music and other prestigious schools. It is a music event of the highest caliber and should not be missed.
