Celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Seattle Catrinas Festival, an immersive, multigenerational gathering honoring the timeless Mexican tradition of Día de Muertos.
Step into a vibrant sanctuary of remembrance featuring grand community altars (ofrendas), monumental Catrinas, authentic artisan markets, and breathtaking folkloric performances. Through music, color, and candlelight, this landmark cultural celebration invites us to remember that beneath the surface, we are all united, honoring those who walked before us while rejoicing in the gift of life.
Far from a solemn occasion or a fear-laden spectacle, Día de Muertos is an uplifting philosophy: an invitation to embrace mortality as a mirror to our shared humanity, rendering every moment sacred. Under this year’s guiding ethos, “Enjoy Your Life and Embrace Your Death,” the festival bridges ancient Mesoamerican heritage and contemporary Pacific Northwest community spirit. Whether arriving in full Catrina gala attire or attending for the first time with family, audiences will find a transformative space for communal storytelling, cultural reverence, and celebration.
Features a chronological journey through Mexican folkloric dance and live music, culminating in the ceremonial candlelight procession and the signature stage presentation “The Unforgettable,” designed for all ages.
Founded in Seattle, Washington, the Seattle Catrinas Festival is an independent cultural organization dedicated to producing high-visibility, museum-caliber celebrations of Mexican traditions and the arts. Now celebrating its fifth anniversary, the organization has grown into one of the Pacific Northwest’s most anticipated autumn traditions, preserving ancestral heritage while fostering inclusive community dialogue.
