Bug Friend is Mikey and Kaylee, a Seattle-based husband-and-wife team creating music for kids of all ages. Mikey has worked with children for over 20 years and has been performing full-time as Mikey the Rad Scientist since 2015, bringing science and nature to life through interactive music. Kaylee brings over 20 years of songwriting and performing experience to Bug Friend’s sound.
Together, they create songs that help kids on their literacy journey while bringing families together through music. Their debut album Alphabops, released in August 2025, features a unique song for every letter of the alphabet, blending diverse musical styles with playful wordplay inspired by Dr. Seuss, Sesame Street, and their own children’s endless curiosity. Drawing on influences from Joe Raposo to Lin-Manuel Miranda, Bug Friend makes music that turns everyday moments into musical adventures.
As with all of our Saturday Family Concerts, this event is free for ages 22 and under.
