If you’re somewhere around fifty, you know the feeling: something is shifting, and the old maps don’t quite work anymore.
For Gen X — a generation that came of age under the War on Drugs and is now navigating midlife, aging parents, adult children, and the quiet question of what the second half actually means — psychedelics are arriving at a strangely perfect moment. Not as an escape from external stress, but to explore one’s internal landscape and answer the question: “Who am I, really?”
Middle age is a developmental threshold, not a crisis. Beginning somewhere in the late forties, it asks us to renegotiate almost everything: identity, purpose, body, relationship, mortality. It’s disorienting by design. And for a growing number of people, psychedelics are becoming part of how they move through it — not to return to who they were, but to find out who they’re becoming.
This Salon brings together voices from the clinical and community sides of this work to explore what midlife actually asks of us, what the research is beginning to show, and what it looks like to cross this threshold with intention.

About the Speakers
Arthur Lee brings an unusually wide lens to the work of psychedelic support. With a background spanning social work, end-of-life care, Buddhist study, and psychedelic harm reduction, he serves as Guest & Community Experience Facilitator at Enfold — a comprehensive 5-MeO-DMT program integrating modern psychology, somatic modalities, and contemplative wisdom. He also hosts Enfold’s Still In It podcast, a series exploring transformation and the long arc of integration.

For more than a decade, April Pride has created brands and convened conversations at the intersection of women’s health, gray-zone medicine, and harm-reduction education. She launched the Psychedelic Salon in 2023, looking to move beyond the isolation of podcasting and connect in person with the psychedelic curious in Seattle, one of the first U.S. cities to decriminalize entheogens. Today, she hosts the Salon in partnership with Town Hall Seattle, where six times a year, a growing community of patients, practitioners, and curious newcomers gathers to hear local and national experts on the law, aging, grief, integration, and more. April’s work has been featured in New York Magazine, Forbes, Vice, and The Guardian.
