Town Hall Member presale: August 25 – 31
General onsale: September 1

Social media star Uncle Roger, also known as Nigel Ng, is perhaps best known for his funny videos online and his genuine love for authentic Asian food. He’s now the author of a cookbook called Don’t Mess Up Your Rice: 70 Recipes to Impress Uncle Roger. He has a passion for sharing what to do, and not to do, all while bringing a generous portion of humor when it comes to Asian cooking.

Bringing his culinary wisdom (and strong opinions), Ng offers techniques and recipes for weeknight staples like Uncle Roger’s Egg Fry Rice, crowd-pleasers like Real Sweet and Sour Pork, and dishes that will make you say “FUIYOH!” (If you know, you know.) He offers essential lessons in Asian cooking in a Western world, from how to master the rice cooker and wok to sourcing ingredients from Asian grocery stores. Using his popular humor, Uncle Roger critiques Western misconceptions while also sharing his secrets behind pounding spices, choosing the right chilies, and how MSG is the king of flavor.

Learn to make noodles, spring rolls, and curries. Get familiar with Red Bean Soup and Bubur Cha Cha. Uncle Roger wants to help demystify the art of Asian cooking so you can make food at home that even he would be proud of you for.

Nigel Ng, also known as Uncle Roger, is a Malaysian comedian, restaurateur, and international star with a massive social media following of more than thirty-one million across platforms. His viral character, Uncle Roger, rose to fame by hilariously critiquing Western chefs’ (most famously, Jamie Oliver’s) attempts at Asian cuisine, and went on to captivate audiences worldwide. Since then, Nigel’s opened two restaurant concepts, FUIYOH! It’s Uncle Roger in Malaysia, and Kawan by Uncle Roger in London. His stand-up special—which he toured for over 100,000 people across multiple countries—is available on Hulu. Nigel lives in Los Angeles.
