What is a Health Advocate, and who needs one?
Our medical system is broken. Navigating our way through it requires guidance and support. From grassroots movements to global policy shifts, health advocacy has shaped the way communities access care, fight inequities, and protect public well-being.
Join Beth Droppert, retired nurse and long-time supporter in the field of health advocacy, as she shares her work and its implications for our overall health in conversation with Rebecca Crichton, ED of Northwest Center for Creative Aging.
Beth M. Droppert R.N., B.S.N. has a long-lived passion for healthcare advocacy. In a career that spans 35 years, Beth specialized in Critical Care Nursing, working in management at the University of Washington Hospital.
She is a founding member and advisory board member of the National Association of Healthcare Advocacy Consultants (NAHAC). She has been involved in the process of credentialing patient advocates.
She co-founded Allied Health Advocates in 2008, the first independent health advocacy company in Washington State. She also co-founded the Washington State Health Advocacy Association (WASHAA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting health advocacy in Washington State, empowering patients and improving healthcare outcomes which transitioned to a National organization, HealthAdvocateX in 2012.
Rebecca Crichton, Executive Director of Northwest Center for Creative Aging (NWCCA), brings wisdom and purpose to her work with the aging community. She retired from a 21-year career at Boeing as a writer, curriculum designer, and leadership development coach.
