Thom Hartmann has been the nation’s #1 progressive talk show host for over a decade. His program airs live weekdays from 9AM-12PM PT on 91.3 KBCS in Bellevue-Seattle-Tacoma and radio stations all across the United States. He is also a four-time Project Censored-award-winning, New York Times best-selling author of over 30 books in print.

In his new book, The Last American President, Hartmann rips open America’s wounded democracy to expose a terrifying truth: Donald Trump isn’t an anomaly—he’s the inevitable product of a system engineered to fail. This searing investigation reveals how a man forged by childhood trauma, pathological narcissism, and calculated cruelty didn’t hijack democracy—he was handed the keys by those who should have been its guardians.

Hartmann uncovers the unholy alliance between Trump’s damaged psyche and America’s rotted institutions. From Fred Trump’s brutal parenting to Roy Cohn’s lessons in shamelessness, from a Republican Party that traded principles for power to billionaire donors who treated democracy as a profit center, this book exposes the assembly line that manufactured an authoritarian.

Thom Hartmann has been the nation’s #1 progressive radio talk show host for over a decade. With 7 million weekly listeners, not including his TV and online viewers, The Thom Hartmann Program airs on commercial and non-profit radio stations across the country and internationally, simulcasts as TV via the Free Speech TV Network, and can be found on many streaming platforms. 91.3 KBCS is the home of the Thom Hartmann Program in the Bellevue-Seattle-Tacoma Metro and broadcasts the show live weekdays from 9AM-12PM PT. Thom is also a four-time Project Censored-award-winning, New York Times best-selling author of over 30 books in print.

Katie Wilson is the co-founder and executive director of the Transit Riders Union (TRU), a democratic membership organization that has become a powerful voice for working people across Seattle and King County. Since founding TRU in 2011, Katie has led the organization for well over a decade, directing hundreds of thousands of volunteer and staff hours toward winning successful campaigns for better transit, higher wages, stronger renter protections, and more affordable housing. Through her leadership of TRU, Katie has built and managed large, multi-partner coalitions to secure the transformative victories described on this page. These wins were made possible by Katie’s deep commitment to community organizing, coalition-building, and strategic advocacy.

About KBCS
KBCS first went on-air as a community radio station in 1973.

Born out of the activism of the 60s and 70s, KBCS is here today thanks to a handful of students who rejected what they were hearing in mainstream commercial media at the time, and after initially being denied their request for funding a student radio station, promptly held a sit-in in the then president’s office, after which, KBCS was allowed to move forward and began broadcasting.

A truly community, grassroots, non-profit, KBCS broadcasts out of a rambler style house on the campus of Bellevue College. With a small staff and over 30 volunteer programmers, KBCS believes media should be accessible to everyone, not just the powerful and privileged.

Today you can tune-in to KBCS at 91.3FM in Bellevue, Seattle, and Tacoma, stream the station live at www.kbcs.fm, or download the KBCS mobile app. In addition to the Thom Hartmann Program, KBCS airs Democracy Now! with Amy Goodman, Alternative Radio, and CODEPINK Radio, just to name a few programs. KBCS also provides a diverse line-up of music including roots, rock, soul, Hawaiian, bluegrass, Celtic, reggae, and much more.
