Get ready for an imaginative, family-friendly concert with Jon Pontrello —a musical adventurer who blends the oldest instruments with the latest music technology to create unforgettable experiences for kids and parents alike. Armed with slide guitar, banjo, kazoo, spoons, and a toolkit of sound effects, Jon transforms the stage into a playground of songs, stories, and interactive fun.

A familiar face from the beloved children’s event Noon Year’s Eve at the Seattle Aquarium with Mikey the Rad Scientist and a longtime member of the Seattle rock group The Moondoggies, Jon brings a depth of experience that makes his kids’ concerts truly unique. His shows are playful, engaging, and brimming with imaginative soundscapes that transport families into new worlds of song and storytelling.

From the oldest instruments in the world to the latest music technology, Jon Pontrello is a musical adventurer who loves sharing his passion through performance and education. For over a decade, he has inspired kids with lively concerts that blend slide guitar, banjo, kazoo, spoons, and imaginative soundscapes that transport young listeners into new worlds of song, movement, and storytelling.

Jon is no stranger to the stage. He has performed with the beloved children’s band Mikey the Rad Scientist at the Seattle Aquarium’s Noon Year’s celebration, and plays in the acclaimed rock band The Moondoggies, who have toured nationally and released several full-length albums.

As a songwriter, Jon has earned recognition in the Northwest music scene, with features in The Seattle Times, KUOW, and KBCS, and honors including 2nd place in the 2025 Robert Kotta Memorial Songwriting Contest. Blending his background in bands and songwriting with a love for storytelling, Jon offers kids’ concerts that resonate with audiences of all ages.

As with all of our Saturday Family Concerts, this event is free for ages 22 and under.
