Arts & Culture

Watch a robot creature explore the Great Hall stage and engage with the audience! This robotic art piece and performance is being built during the Town Hall Artist-in-Residency of Bailey Ambrose Heller. This event explores the mysterious nature of robotic beings and the humanity we imbue upon technology’s “black box.”

A live video of the robot’s perspective will be projected behind it as it perceives its environment, looks into the audience, and interacts with stage features. This audio-visual experience offers a unique relationship between the audience and the mechanical performer.

For the second half of the event, Bailey will join the robot onstage and explain what went into building it and how his artistic process intersects with engineering.
