Philharmonia Northwest presents their long-awaited family concert, offering an incredible first-time symphony experience for young audience members, as well as for the young at heart. They perform pieces drawing inspiration from the classic writing of Dr. Seuss and the beloved Peanuts comics.
Based on Dr. Seuss’ popular book, “The Sneetches” for narrator and orchestra tells a story about the perils of bigotry and the acceptance of our differences. “The Peanuts Concerto” for Piano and Orchestra—with accompanying virtuoso pianist Jeffrey Biegel—weaves together the songs of Vince Guaraldi and Peanuts television specials. Make your feet dance and your heart sing for a heartwarming concert to brighten your holiday season!
Jacques Offenbach: Overture “Can-Can” from Orpheus in the Underworld
Lorenzo Palomo: Dr. Seuss’ “The Sneetches” for narrator and orchestra
Vince Guaraldi, arranged Dick Tunney: “Peanuts Concerto” for piano and orchestra – Jeffrey Biegel, piano
Presented by Philharmonia Northwest.
