Since 1991, supporters of the Center for Ethical Leadership have advocated, donated, partnered, and volunteered to bring the organization’s work to life: to cultivate leaders who know their values and have the courage and discipline to act on them where they live, work, and play, on behalf of the common good. In celebration of 30 years of leadership and championing for a just society, (CEL) invites new friends and old to join in an evening of celebration during their virtual Legacy Event. Share in what CEL’s next 30 years will look like and be inspired by keynote speaker Erin Jones.
There is no charge to attend the event and donations are welcomed.
Keynote speaker Erin Jones has been involved in and around schools for 30 years. She has taught in a variety of environments to some of the most diverse communities in the nation. Jones received the award for “Most Innovative Foreign Language Teacher” while teaching in Tacoma in 2007, and was named the “Washington State Milken Educator of the Year” while teaching in Spokane in 2008. She was recognized by the White House as a “Champion of Change” in 2013 and was Washington State PTA’s “Outstanding Educator” in 2015. Jones has also worked as an executive for two state superintendents, worked in college access at the school district level, and ran for state superintendent in 2016 – the first Black woman to run for any state office in Washington state, a race she lost by a mere 1%.
