Digital Stage

Hosted by respected journalist Joni Balter, Civic Cocktail offers a lively and conversational look at big events and important issues facing the Puget Sound region. Seattle CityClub presents a Virtual Civic Cocktail in partnership with Town Hall—featuring Raquel Bono and Gary Locke talking COVID, the Census, and the impact of both on Washington State.

Vice Admiral (ret.) Raquel Bono is Director of Washington State’s COVID-19 Health System Response Management, a critical position that ensures a coordinated and effective response to the COVID-19 pandemic across Washington’s health care system. She joins us to reveal her three top priorities: protecting our frontline health care workers, optimizing all of Washington’s health resources, and keeping Washingtonians safe.

Gary Locke is the former Governor of Washington, Ambassador to China, and U.S. Secretary of Commerce—and is the current honorary chair of the King County Complete Count Committee. Drawing on his varied background and recent work, Locke discusses the ways our Census data will impact our community, plus the current state of Chinese-American relations and his own experiences being attacked by President Trump.

Join us for a livestreamed Civic Cocktail session—listen, learn, and engage community leaders, journalists, and neighbors about the civic issues affecting our city right now.

Special thanks to CityClub’s regular production partners, Seattle Channel and Tom Douglas Restaurants, and Civic Cocktail’s generous program partners: Comcast, Crosscut, KUOW, and the Evergrey.
