Earshot Jazz presents
The Jamie Baum Septet+
South Asian-inflected jazz

The Earshot Jazz Festival swings into its 33rd year with a schedule of in-person and livestream concerts! The 2021 lineup reflects the history, progression, and spirit of jazz as it exists around the world and right here in our home community. Together, listeners will experience the social and creative complexities of our times through the deep soul, beautiful structure, and spontaneous invention of live jazz performance.

Renowned flutist and composer Jamie Baum brings her longtime New York-based Septet+ for a rare Seattle appearance. Playing stylish South Asian-inflected jazz, the band includes Seattle-reared star guitarist Brad Shepik with Jonathan Finlayson (trumpet), Aaron Irwin (alto sax/bass clarinets), Chris Komer (French horn), John Escreet (piano), Ricky Rodriguez (bass, singing bowls), and Jeff Hirshfield (drums).

This tour is made possible with support from the Presenter Consortium for Jazz, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Jazz Road, a national initiative of South Arts, and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
