A Town Hall Short Stories Live tradition returns with Rogue’s Christmas 2021, a collection of unconventional holiday tales read live in the Great Hall! Curator Jean Sherrard — along with co-rogues Kurt Beattie, Marianne Owen, and special guest Duwamish elder and descendant of Chief Seattle, Ken Workman — offer a selection of ghostly tales that follow the nearly-forgotten tradition of spooky holiday storytelling. Roguish house band Pineola returns to provide musical delights!
Pineola is a melting pot of Country, R&B, Rock, and Folk. The band hails from Seattle, WA, but the members are all transplants from small American towns, bringing Gulf Coast to the Pacific Coast, the Blue Mountains to the Olympic Range, and the longleaf pine to the ponderosa.
The songs, snapshots documented in delicate layers, are written by lead singer Leslie Braly. Leslie also plays acoustic guitar and is joined by John Owen on guitar and Ed Brooks on pedal steel along with special guest Rebecca Young on bass.
Presented by Town Hall Seattle.
