Women’s wages are lower than men’s in every state, but the disparity between working mothers and women without children is even greater. This discussion, featuring Stanford’s Shelley Correll, will focus on the tangible penalties placed on mothers in the workplace–and what can be done to address the problem. On top of the wage gap, general hiring and promotion practices will also be examined to highlight this “motherhood penalty.”
