Senator Cory Booker
‘Finding Common Ground’ as a Nation

Cory Booker

Advance tickets for this event are sold out. There will be a standby line at the door. With division in political parties growing stronger every day, and racial tensions higher than they’ve been in decades, “finding common ground” in America is no easy task. According to New Jersey Senator Cory Booker (United), the way forward is hard, but achievable. Drawing on years of personal experience (as a tenants’ rights lawyer, Newark city council member, mayor, and eventually Senator) he’ll explain why reorienting U.S. politics around compassion, hope, and solidarity is the key. He’ll share why tolerance for others can be replaced with love and respect by focusing on “the common good.” Booker will also share his observations on other locally and nationally-relevant topics: race, crime, mass incarceration, economic justice, and environmentalism.
