Seattle Baroque Orchestra kicks off its 2015-16 with a performance dedicated to the power of water and its tides. After a 2 season-long, international search for a new music director, Alexander Weimann now stands at the helm of SBO. He’ll lead the group through two Telemann orchestral suites–“Hamburg Ebb and Flow,” about water deities from Greek mythology, and “La Bourse,” an account of the American maritime trade troubles that caused The Frankfurt Stock Exchange–as well as Handel’s famed “Water Music.” Whether it’s the aquatic gods of old, or the tide of the Thames in “Water Music,” this SBO performance will celebrate the influence water has in our lives.
Ticketing note: Early Music Guild offers a $5 Town Hall member discount on tickets. To take advantage of this offer, please order tickets via phone (206-325-7066) or at the box office the evening of the performance. For the best seats, they strongly recommend ordering by phone in advance.
