Connecting Kids to Nature in a Technological World

Scott Sampson

In our increasingly digital age, children are spending less and less time playing outdoors–despite nature’s correlation to improved physical and emotional health. In How to Raise a Wild Child, Scott Sampson (host of beloved PBS show Dinosaur Train) lays out the importance of getting outside, and offers a step-by-step guide for parents and teachers to engage kids in nature. Sampson will explain why it’s crucial to strengthen a rich relationship with the environment at an early age, and explore the way this connection changes with age. He’ll even offer his suggestion for a somewhat unusual channel to get kids moving out the door–with technology.
