Philharmonia Northwest presents

Philharmonia Northwest invites us to their season opener “Reminiscence,” which is all about memory. This livestreamed concert will include works from George Walker, the first African-American composer to win a Pulitzer Prize, dedicated his “Lyric for Strings” to his grandmother after she died; Debussy, who looks back to antiquity with one of the first pieces composed for the modern harp, “Danse sacrée et danse profane”—which features harpist Sophie Baird-Daniel; and lastly, Tchaikovsky’s colorful “Souvenir de Florence,” which remembers the composer’s travels in Italy. Don’t miss a stirring, moving performance from this vital regional chamber orchestra.

Presented by Philharmonia Northwest.
