Computers can predict what you’re thinking before you think it–at least, that’s the goal of a “master algorithm.” University of Washington professor Pedro Domingos is one of the many researchers chasing this elusive goal and in The Master Algorithm, he lays bare the data, research–and extreme intelligence–computers are capable of. He’ll explain the field of Machine Learning (how computers learn things without being told) and why it’s crucial to the future of technology. Whether shopping for a new car or searching an online dating site, Domingos’ advice will give you a glimpse behind the scenes of these and other data-driven algorithms, and how this still-emerging field affects everyone.
