Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign has once again ignited a conversation about the Bush family and its powerful sway on American politics. However, no portrait of the Bush dynasty and the modern Republican party would be complete without an analysis of George Herbert Walker Bush. Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jon Meacham (American Lion, Franklin and Winston) takes a biographical look at the 41st President to deepen our understanding of his rise up the political ladder and extreme dedication to America. Called a “timely, first-rate book” by David McCullough, Meacham’s Destiny and Power utilizes Bush’s personal diaries and interviews with family members for an unparalleled portrait of the man. He’ll offer anecdotes about Bush and give insight into how his legacy continues to influence politics today.
