HR community response

As a follow-up to the December 10 Human Rights Day celebration, this panel discussion will dive deeply into local activist movements in the community, including ongoing work by farmworkers in the Skagit Valley to organize against unfair labor conditions. The evening features Ramon Torres, President of Familias Unidas Por la Justicia; community organizer Jessica Ramirez (current Abe Osheroff scholar at the University of Washington); journalism professor Robert Jensen; and Angelina Godoy, director of UW’s Center for Human Rights. The event, which is also a celebration of the late Osheroff’s 100th birthday, will also give background info on his social justice legacy.
