The Ethical and Environmental Impacts of Eating Animals

Gene Baur

Vegetarian and vegan lifestyles are on the rise, and Farm Sanctuary’s co-founder Gene Baur (Living the Farm Sanctuary Life) says eating ethically is imperative to protect animals from factory farm cruelties. He’ll talk with UW professor Kathryn Gillespie for a discussion of animal rights, the value of respecting nature, stewardship and more. They’ll share the lessons they’ve learned in their fields–how eating meat impacts animals; why being a conscious consumer leads to a happier, healthier lifestyle; and steps everyone can take to start on the path toward eating responsibly.
