The Forum

Many leading scientists and world bodies say nuclear energy resources will be a key component in combating climate change, but myths and misconceptions about the use of nuclear resources persist. How can nuclear energy make a difference given the challenges it faces, some real and some imagined?

Join Seattle Friends of Fission for a lively discussion featuring a panel of experts with national and global perspectives on how we can safely use nuclear energy to fight climate change.

Panelists include:
Dr. James Conca, contributor on energy and environmental issues
Nick Touran, advanced nuclear reactor physicist, TerraPower
Kristin Zaitz, senior consulting engineer, Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant
Moderator: Scott Montgomery, nationally acclaimed writer, and adjunct faculty, UW Jackson School of Intl. Studies

Presented by: Seattle Friends of Fission, Energy Northwest, Ada’s Technical Books and Cafe, Cascadia Climate Action and Mothers for Nuclear
