Elisa Chavez
Scratch Night: Nerds & Nazis
What do a bunch of angry video gamers, skinhead rockers, and anti-postmodern Ovid fans have in common? As poet Elisa Chavez discovered through their vitriolic reactions to her work, they all use their chosen media to promote discrimination and hateful ideologies. Come for an evening of discussion, poetry, and multimedia presentation as she explores art as a vehicle for racism, and why these dudes always feel they have to rhyme.
Please note: This program explores some mature themes and may not be appropriate for younger audiences.
