Seattle Public Library presents
Clay Jenkinson as John Wesley Powell

Clay Jenkinson

This highly-popular annual event returns with Clay Jenkinson’s impersonation of explorer John Wesley Powell–teacher, geologist, one-armed Civil War veteran, and explorer of the West. A humanities scholar, author, and NPR host, Jenkinson will appear in full costume as Powell in an excellent characterization of the man who was a principal force in mapping America. In his own words, Jenkinson treats history not as something of the past, but “an unresolved narrative about that which is noble.”

Presented by: Seattle Public Library as part of its 2015 McLellan/O’Donnell Living History Series.
