Civic Saturday is a place to come together in civic community, be inspired and encouraged to reflect and connect, and create new civic traditions that are joyful and communal.
Gather with friends and strangers to dive into readings of civic texts, share thoughts and ideas, and sing with local musicians. Hear poetry from Naa Akua, whose work encapsulates thoughts on community, love, internal reflection, and “the r(evolution) of apathy into action.” And enjoy the centerpiece of this civic ritual, a “civic sermon” from Citizen University founder Eric Liu. Join together and reflect on the meaning of our nation’s creed—of liberty, equality, and self-government that truly unites us.
Presented by Town Hall Seattle, Citizen University, and The Evergrey.
