While living aboard the International Space Station for over five months, Commander Chris Hadfield became a worldwide sensation by sharing the experience of being an astronaut with millions. Whether answering questions such as, “How do you wring out a washcloth in space?” via Skype or collaborating with The Barenaked Ladies for an interactive music video, he used social media to bring life in space to the world. A heavily decorated astronaut, engineer, and pilot, Hadfield’s many awards include receiving the Order of Ontario, the Meritorious Service Cross, and the NASA Exceptional Service Medal.
Now Hadfield has written a children’s book, The Darkest Dark, inspired by his own childhood experience of overcoming fears and achieving his biggest dreams.
