Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra presents
Cellist Nathan Chan Plays Shostakovich

Cello phenom Nathan Chan joins Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra for Dmitri Shostakovich’s electrifying Cello Concerto No. 1 in SMCO’s full-orchestra debut on the Great Hall stage. The program includes Ascending Bird, a work of Iranian influence written for Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble by Siamak Aghei and Colin Jacobsen, and Joseph Haydn’s timeless Symphony No. 101 (The Clock). The charm and wit of this beloved work is also reflected in a classical re-imagining of Sufjan Steven’s genre-bending LP, Enjoy Your Rabbit. Music Director Geoffrey Larson conducts.

Presented by Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra.
