Born out of a love of the early years of swing, Americana, and rock ‘n ‘roll revival, Birch Pereira & the Gin Joints offers a fresh angle on beloved American song traditions. They lend us their upbeat energy to kick off our 2018-19 Saturday Family Concert season. Transport your family to a time of honky-tonks and roadhouses and dance along to tunes with a classic sound that Folk Radio UK calls “a heady blend of early jazz, jump blues, vintage soul, old school rock’n’roll and hillbilly boogie.”

This energetic ensemble is composed of skilled and talented musicians with a love of musical gems tinged with jazz, rock, and soul—featuring Seattle upright bassist Birch Pereira at the center. The band’s debut album Dream Man received the Earshot Jazz Golden Ear award for Northwest Recording of the Year in 2016, and Birch himself was nominated for 2017 Earshot Jazz Vocalist of the Year.

Presented by Town Hall Seattle and Phinney Neighborhood Association.
