Planetary scientist Amanda Hendrix and award-winning science writer Charles Wohlforth have joined forces to explore the possibilities of space colonization. Focusing on the human capacity for invention and adventure, while acknowledging the bureaucratic, political, and scientific challenges of space travel, the authors offer evidence that space colonization is possible, not on Mars but Titan, a moon of Saturn with a nitrogen atmosphere, a weather cycle, and an inexhaustible supply of cheap energy. Imagine people being able to fly like birds in the minimal gravitational field! Presenting careful research and realistic scenarios, Hendrix and Wohlforth entertain the extraordinary prospect of earthlings settling on another planet.
