On October 7th and 8th Inspire Washington will host the Cultural Candidate Forums to provide general election contenders in the Seattle and King County races the opportunity to outline their plans for restoring, supporting, and expanding the region’s cultural arts, heritage, and natural science fields. Participating candidates will be determined by the results of the primaries on August 5th.
Positions up for election:
Seattle: City Council Districts 2, 8, 9
King County: County Executive and Council District 5
Questions for the candidates will be prepared by a Inspire Washington’s District Teams (a diverse array of cultural leaders) to focus on specific needs, areas for growth, and threat mitigation. The forums will feature performances from local artists between moderated sessions with the candidates. In-person audience participation is encouraged but all events will be live-streamed. The venue is ADA accessible, and the event will be close captioned.
This event is sponsored by ArtsFund.
