Alarm Will Sound is a 20-member band committed to innovative performances and recordings of contemporary music, with a reputation for performing demanding music with energetic skill. The group’s performances have been described as “equal parts exuberance, nonchalance, and virtuosity” by the London Financial Times, and The New York Times says Alarm Will Sound is “the future of classical music” and “the very model of a modern music chamber band.” With a repertoire ranging from European to American works and from the arch-modernist to the pop-influenced, Alarm Will Sound performs a program including Aphex Twin arr. Freund, Cock ver 10; Adams’ Son of Chamber Symphony; Freund’s Drowning (lyrics contain adult language); Varese arr. Hause, Poeme Electronique; Marks’ Song for Wade; Beatles arr. Marks, Revolution 9; and Aphex Twin arr. Hause, Omgyjya Switch.
Advance tickets are $20/$17 Town Hall members & seniors, $10 age 25 & under at Brown Paper Tickets or 800/838-3006.
