Simon Kuper with the Sounders’ Sigi Schmid and Arlo White:
The Soul of a ‘Soccer Man’

Tuesday, October 11, 2011, 7:30 – 9:00pm

Downstairs at Town Hall; enter on Seneca Street. $5.

Simon Kuper’s bestselling book Soccernomics pioneered a new way of looking at soccer through empirical analysis— but now the sportswriter leaves the numbers behind to explore the heart and soul of the world’s most popular sport. In Soccer Men, Kuper goes behind the scenes with soccer’s greatest players and coaches—Arsène Wenger, Jose Mourinho, Jorge Valdano, Lionel Messi, Kaká, and Didier Drogba—for a penetrating examination of the figures that define modern soccer.  Special guests added! Seattle Sounders’ coach Sigi Schmid will join Kuper for a discussion moderated by the “Voice of the Sounders” Arlo White. Presented by Town Hall with University Book Store.

Tickets are $5 at Brown Paper Tickets or 800/838-3006, and at the door beginning at 6:30 pm. Town Hall members receive priority seating.
