Seattle Pro Musica: Weihnachten: A German Christmas

Saturday, December 8, 2012, 7:30 – 9:30pm

Great Hall; enter on Eighth Avenue. $12-$38.

Named “among America’s very best choirs” by American Record Guide, Seattle Pro Musica celebrates 40 years of extraordinary music-making in its 2012-13 season. This performance features the joyous sounds of traditional German choral music for Christmas, including an atmospheric candlelight processional; traditional carols; and beautiful works by Bruckner, Mendelssohn, Biebl, and Distler.  Last season’s Christmas concerts sold out and elicited glowing reviews; The Seattle Times raved: “This choir, under the direction of Karen P. Thomas, has a sound of such polished purity that it’s almost velvety…” A preconcert lecture begins at 6:30 pm. Presented by Seattle Pro Musica.

Advance tickets are $25/$12 student/$18 senior/$35 prime seating, at www.brownpapertickets.com; $28/$15/$21/$38 at the door beginning at 6:30 pm.
