Seattle Baroque Orchestra: Matthews & Schenkman: Common Ground

Ingrid Matthews and Byron Schenkman, directors of Seattle Baroque Orchestra, present a program displaying 17th-century virtuosity from Northern Europe and England, featuring variations on ground basses and popular tunes of the day. The concert features two sonatas by Schmelzer; the Biber Passacaglia for solo violin; Muffat’s Passacaglia for harpsichord; Lachrymae Pavan; and selections from The Division Violin, including Baltzar’s John Come Kiss Me Now. A preconcert lecture begins at 7 p.m. Presented by Seattle Baroque Orchestra.

Tickets are $40/$35 senior/$25 side sections/$15 under age 25 at www.earlymusicguild.org. Town Hall members receive a $5 discount.
