Enjoy the Benefits of our New Partnership with the Sorrento Hotel

In its heyday, the Sorrento Hotel was a true civic hub of Seattle, where people convened to exchange ideas about politics and current affairs, as well as musical performances and poetry readings. To celebrate its 100th birthday, the Sorrento, a historic boutique hotel located at 900 Madison (at Terry, about three blocks from Town Hall Seattle), is renewing its role as a host to the city with a bevy of Centennial events designed to inspire conversations among neighbors, friends, and guests.

Drinking Lessons
The study of the American cocktail with celebrated mixologists.

Midnight Symposiums
Intimate conversations in the Penthouse Suite with a host of authors.

Chamber vs. Chamber
Chamber vs. Chamber endeavors to spark a dialogue between classical chamber performance and indie rock darlings with live music, people, cocktails, a roaring fire, and thoughtful conversation.

12 Books
In partnership with Elliott Bay Book Company and the University Book Store, the Sorrento is establishing a small bookstore in its lobby. Selections reflect a sampling of books that are being published or written in or about the Northwest. Content of the selections will touch on hotels, public/private spaces, and authors that collaborate with the Sorrento to host readings, symposiums, and various literary happenings.

About the Sorrento Hotel
The Sorrento Hotel opened in 1909, just before the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, a world's fair that was held in Seattle to highlight the development of the Northwest. The exposition attracted nearly 4 million visitors, which made for an auspicious beginning for the city's first and what would become the longest-standing boutique hotel. The Malone Family has owned the Sorrento since the 1980s and since has restored the hotel's appearance, as well as its reputation for hospitality. The Sorrento has earned numerous awards including being named one of Conde Nast Traveler's top-25 hotels and is consistently voted the most romantic hotel in Seattle.
