Rajiv Chandrasekaran reveals the behind-the-scenes story of the struggle between President Obama and the military to remake Afghanistan. Focusing on southern Afghanistan in the year of Obama’s surge, Chandrasekaran, associate editor of The Washington Post and author of Little America, explores the characters and compromises involved in this epic tug of war—and its ramifications for the region and the world—concluding it’s a venture that has become unsustainable in every way: politically, financially, and strategically. Presented by the Town Hall Center for Civic Life with University Book Store.  Series supported by The Boeing Company, the RealNetworks Foundation, and the True/Brown Foundation.
