Strings rule the Great Hall stage as TownMusic artistic director Joshua Roman, former principal cellist with the Seattle Symphony, performs with a cello ensemble he hand-picked—Julie Albers, Efe Baltacigil, Richard Belcher, Meeka DiLorenzo, Roberta Downey, Chuck Jacot, and Walter Gray—in a program featuring a newly commissioned work by musician/DJ/composer Mason Bates. The program also features La Muerte del Angel and La Resurreccion del Angel by Astor Piazzolla, Richard Strauss’ Beim Schlafengehen (one of his final completed works from Four Last Songs), the otherworldly Fratres by Arvo Pärt, Hector Villa-Lobos’ beloved Bachianas Brasileiras #1, Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin (arr. Roman), and much more!
Advance tickets are $20/$17 Town Hall members & seniors, $10 age 25 & under at Brown Paper Tickets or 800/838-3006; $25/$22/$10 at the door.
