Future of Health: Gary Small: Preventing Alzheimer’s
Tuesday, February 21, 2012, 6:00 – 7:30pm
Downstairs at Town Hall; enter on Seneca Street. $5.
Every 69 seconds, someone in America is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s—and the only “cure,” says Dr. Gary Small, is prevention. To that end, Small, director of the UCLA Memory and Aging Center and a popular Town Hall guest (he was last here in December 2010 with his book Naked Lady Who Stood on Her Head), has developed a whole-body, whole-mind regimen. His new book, TheAlzheimer’s Prevention Program, begins with an assessment test, then introduces a seven-day jumpstart program to start protecting your brain from Alzheimer’s. Presented by the Alzheimer’s Association, Western and Central Washington State Chapter, Town Hall and University Book Store, through the Future of Health Lecture Series. Series sponsored by Bastyr University and PCC Natural Markets; media sponsorship provided by KPLU.
Tickets are $5 at Brown Paper Tickets or 800/838-3006, or at the door beginning at 5:30 pm. Town Hall members receive priority seating. Double feature! Ticket also gains admission to the Susan Fung event at 8:00 pm.
